The Materials Learning Exchange is an initiative to make Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) education more engaging, and creative—for students of all ages and backgrounds.

Founded by Dr. Ipek Yucelen, an Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida, this platform brings together innovative teaching tools from classrooms, student projects, and outreach activities worldwide.

Dr. Yucelen is passionate about transforming how engineering is taught—making learning more visual, hands-on, and student-centered.
